In a blog entry, the MHRA Inspectorate explains various scenarios that can lead to short notice and unannounced GMP inspections. These scenarios may include: • logistical reasons, such as when a last-minute cancellation occurs and inspectors look to allocate a replacement site • reasons based on risk information that may dictate a change to the prioritization of an inspection • where the site was unable to agree to the dates that the assigned inspector has available, and • others. “The use of these inspection types allows MHRA to investigate issues that pose a significant risk to public health without obstruction and to work efficiently,” the agency states.
